Ubiquitous Library (U-Library)
· On the 25th January 2011, with the collaboration of several organisation a seminar was held to introduce the particular subject above.
· 3 MIDA Resource Centre officers attended the seminar entitled : The Inaugural Seminar for U-Library : meeting of the minds for librarians & information professional. With the theme of ‘U-Library extending beyond traditional boundaries’, the seminar succeeded to joint together various librarians and information professional from various organisations.
· The u-Library Pilot Project is an innovation that manifests a collaborative synergy from the Ministry of Information Communications and Culture (KPKK) through Malaysian Communications And Multimedia Commission (SKMM), with the support of the National Library of Malaysia (PNM) and the following u-Library Consortium members:
- Selangor State Library Corporation (PPAS),
- Negeri Sembilan State Library Corporation (PPANS),
- Pahang State Library Corporation (PPAP),
- Sarawak State Library (Pustaka),
- Kuala Lumpur Library (PKL) and
- INTAN Library at Bukit Kiara.
The u-Library project is realised through the innovative collaboration from the following agencies:
- Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU)
- Economic Planning Unit (EPU)
- National Registration Department, Ministry of Home Affairs(JPN)
- National Centre of Excellence for Sensor Technology (NEST), Universiti Putra Malaysia
- Pos Malaysia Berhad (PMB)
- FPX Gateway Sdn Bhd(fomerly known as Malaysian Electronic Payment System Sdn. Bhd (MEPS))
- Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad
- Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd
